The “gold rush” Chi Elite Flat Iron

I paid $99.00 (Originally $125.00) I decided to get this because I heard CHI was a great brand. To be honest I was a little skeptical because it kind of looked like a generic brand at first. So this model flat iron comes in two style. You can get the original tourmaline black, or the limited edition gold rush (both the same price). So of course I got the special one. The special edition comes with a sparkly little heat resistant carrier bag.

Here is what it claims:

  • Temperature Dial for Variable Heat Settings
  • Eliminates static and reduces frizz
  • Floating plates for better results
  • FREE storage case

CHI Elite Gold Rush Flat Iron 1″ utilizes the latest innovative technology combining Tourmaline Ceramic with even heat distribution, producing an exceptionally high amount of negative ions and far infrared which reduce static electricity for that perfect style. This Classic Flat Iron is ideal for all your hairstyle needs. Now, you can straighten, smooth, curl, wave, spiral, flip, and bend. Just use your imagination and create your own personal flair.

Includes a FREE CHI Elite heat resistant shimmer dark gray travel case to protect your CHI Elite Iron while traveling or not in use. Features a wristlet strap, zippered pocket with two inner storage pockets and CHI Elite Charm. Case measures 12″ x 5.5″

First of all, it heats up really quickly! so watch your fingers! It’s highest temperature is 410 (not to bad, its not like I want to fry my hair!). It smooths my hair very nicely and YES, it does eliminate frizz! (unlike some irons I’ve used). I really love it, for some reason when I use this flat iron my hair seems to be a lot more glossy and bouncy. I love it. :) Great product!

However, the carrier bag has a strange feel to it. Its not soft at all on the outside and feel kind of starchy. Also the glitter comes off… we all know how difficult that is to get off. It was free, anyhow, still useful to carry the iron around. So I’ll use it!
